tonka00 says: Finished this book up while on vacation & let me tell you, the end had me a mess! I could not stop the tears... Charley is put through the ringer in this book! I am so unbelievably hooked into another series and loving every moment! I haven't been writing long reviews lately - so I'll give you the skinny on this series - you decide if you'd like to check it out. The main character, Charley Davidson is special; she can see dead people and interact with them. To be even more blunt abo...ut it, Charley is the grim reaper - not the spooky, hooded version of such, but she is a portal for lost souls to pass through to heaven. Charley works as a private investigator and assists the local police department in solving all sorts of mysteries and because of her special ability, she's pretty good at it. All of the books so far are told in Charley's POV and let me tell you, the woman is freaking hilarious! The other main character is Reyes Farrow - Reyes has been in and out of Charley's life since she was born and you discover that he has many special abilities - being the son of Satan and all. The interactions between Charley and Reyes are scorching hot and often times you hate Reyes, but you can't deny his bad boy appeal. The gems of the series are all of Charley's side kicks - Cookie, her neighbor, bestie, receptionist and researcher for her private investigator business. The interactions between these two never fail to make me laugh out loud. Uncle Bob, or Ubie as Charley calls him, is a cop and relies on Charley's help to solve all sorts of crimes. Garrett Swopes, a skip tracer, who seems to assist Uncle Bob and Charley on an as needed basis and I think he has a huge crush on Charley. There are too many other side characters to list them all, but they make for a fun melting pot of crazy in the series.I can't recommend this series enough for a good laugh, some suspense, mystery and overall entertainment. The books are well written and will keep you totally engaged. Umbaste says: Ok, now this series is getting really interesting. The first two books were like an appetizer for better things to come. The comedy is on point! I literally laugh out loud at some of the things Charley says, which I RARELY do. I am glad that the series became more interesting, if this book didn't get me going I was going to stop reading the series but, now I think I will read the whole thing. Also, thank goodness this cat and mouse thing with Charley and Reyes is coming to an end and they can just bang in real life, good lord!MoreLessRead More Read Less
