pspsantus says: The premise of the book is very Jodi Picoult-ish, but unlike Picoult's characters, I found the ones in this book mostly believable and not puppet-y. It was a very compelling read -- I started it yesterday and stayed awake later than I should have finishing it. Like other reviewers, I wish there'd been a chapter from Will's perspective. I like how Moyes adds a lot of grit to the romance with the addition of class issues, financial instability, the obsessiveness of triathletes and t...he central problem of the morality of euthanasia and how one might cope with a loved one who wants to die. Electroniraj says: This was a book a parent of one of my students suggested to me, and I went into this thinking that it would be a corny chick-lit read. And, for a while, it is. However, by the time I was mid-way through the book, I was emotionally attached to the characters and led to one of those late-night sob-fests as I turned the last few pages. It led to heated book club debate regarding the character's motivations toward the end of the novel. The characters almost were reminiscent of Notting Hill - charming in their imperfect ways. I highly recommend the novel and you will likely read it quickly!MoreLessRead More Read Less

The book is more touching than a movie, but I liked it too. Love it!

I loved the book, Reading all over again as I rush through the first time. The movie was charming and I was rooting for Will and Louisa all the way. Understanding his situation but was still hoping he would change his mind and marry her. I read the follow up but find it boring, I was hoping Louisa would be motivated to follow will's advise and do something with her life instead it was a waste doing menial jobs. Overall love the first book and movie.

i am not fond of the movie but i find the book is super good. Its a bummer how sometimes movie can't bring the whole feeling that you get when reading the book alone, i guess thats' how our imagination works wonder. i love Will's and Lou characters, i hated his decision but i can only imagine how painful and lonely it is to be in his position and i understand how he wanted everything to just end and Lou, i am rooting for you.
