nish1432002 says: No. No. No. No. Did I mention no? No? Okay, well then, no. I wanted Jonah and Merit to get together so freaking bad. And... Did they? No. I love that word in case you didn't know. But to make matters even worse than said matters were before: Ethan loves Merit, and Merit loves him. NO. I detest Methan almost as much as I detest my twin sister, and I detest her A LOT. But that is besides the point here! The point is that Merit and Ethan are together, and I don't want them to be to...gether, which means Chloe Neill needs to make them end their relationship ASAP before I freak out. Pretty please with chocolate cherries on top? No? Okay, well I see how it is, I see how it's gonna be. TURN ON YOUR LOCATION AND FIGHT ME! Gotta love Connor Franta and his flannel. But (Again) that is besides the point here! The point is that I was forced to read the entire book, despite the fact that it proved to be quite difficult due to the Southern vibe I was getting at first. I'm a city girl, and even though I like my alone time, I do not like reading all about the country... Unless Luc's chaps are involved, then I will endure with happiness. My main point overall: the book was slow and confusing. Which motivated me to give the two star rating that I did. jlvaron says: 2.5 stars. If you're into urban fantasy and looking for a series to fill that gaping void, then you could do worse than picking up one of these books. They're simple, but they're not insult-your-intelligence simple. Yeah, you'll probably be able to pick up on who's the baddie from page 11, but you'll appreciate (and stay for) the emotional honesty. The characters, though mostly supernatural in origin, have struggles I think most people could relate to. The plot would be entirely forgettable, but I know it will be referenced in the next book and probably further down the line as well, so I'm sure I'll remember. On its own, though, it's nothing special. The writing isn't gorgeous, but it's definitely a healthy notch above most of the comparable series out there -- at least the ones I've seen rated highly. Biggest bummer is the price of these books. $7.99 for 330 pages? A rip-off, for sure.MoreLessRead More Read Less
